The Nature Conservancy

is the new home for the Oregon sector of The Nature Conservancy, a global organization. The Architect for the project was Portland based Lever Architecture---OSC was responsible for all environmental design including wayfinding, code signage, custom furniture elements and storytelling throughout the space. OSC used innovative materials and techniques to represent the core stories of the organization while simultaneously giving a nod to the natural environment of the state of Oregon. Some examples include using archived slides to create a custom lit gallery, a large scale CNC map of Oregon, using local material on the custom couch, a 2 story mural of the rivers of Oregon, and artful stakes at the exterior of the building which tell the story of forest burn, as well as the 4 key pillars of the organization: Protect Land and Water, Tackle Climate Change, Provide Food and Water Sustainably, Build Healthy Cities.
